Coogs Kitchen: Cookies and Hot Chocolate

Here’s a sweet recipe to transform those leftover holiday candy canes (or any peppermint candy) into a nice sweet treat! And for a bonus, I’m throwing in a recipe for a very easy hot chocolate involving your favorite chocolate hazelnut spread!

Chocolate Hazelnut Spread Hot Chocolate:
A spoon full of your favorite chocolate hazelnut spread
UH: 1 medium jar $5.89
Grocery: $3.48
However much milk
UH: 1 qt $2.99
Grocery: 1 qt $1.89
Salt TT
UH: a shaker $1.19

Combine butter, brown sugar, egg, vanilla extract, salt, and flour in one large bowl. It helps if the butter is at room temperature. Add Chocolate chips and fold them in. Have your peppermint candy unwrapped and placed in a sandwich bag. Use and item you like to beat things with and smash the peppermint until the candies are like tiny shards. Add the shards and fold them into the dough. Place cookies on a tray – that has either been sprayed, covered with parchment paper or has been prayed for – and inch apart. Bake the cookies at 350° for about 8 – 12 min and let them cool for about 5 min.
For the hot chocolate, combine the chocolate hazelnut spread, salt, cinnamon and milk in a microwavable mug. Warm it up in the microwave for 30sec, tag it out and mix it. If it’s not ready, put it back in for another 30sec and repeat until the chocolate is melted and the drink is hot enough to your liking.
Yields about 24 cookies depending on size
Takes about 20 minutes of your time

Hope you guys liked it! THANKS FOR WATCHING!!
